Plant Success Convenes the National Science Quiz

The ARC Centre of Excellence for Plant Success was pleased to be the convenors of the National Science Quiz for 2023. The National Science Quiz aims to celebrate science and inspire the next generation of Aussie scientists. The Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Mathematical and Statistical Frontiers (ACEMS) was the driving force behind the first National Science Quiz in 2016. Since then, it has been convened by different Centres of Excellence each year with support from other Centres and scientific organisations across Australia.

Plant Success Outreach Officer Emma Horswill, Associate PhD Student Caitlin Dudley (pictured right), Outreach Lead Eloise Foo, and Chief Operating Officer David Tomlins coordinated the Centre’s participation in the Quiz which was held live in Melbourne and streamed on YouTube.

Attendees could play along in person and online to win cash prizes with a special secondary school team cash prize of $1,000 offered for the first time in 2023. A list of winners can be seen on the National Science Quiz website.

Congratulations to all who helped organise the event and well done to the winning team Nate Byrne, Paige Erpf and Marcy Robertson!

A recording of the event is available below.
