The multi-criteria decision-making approach underpinning authorder® was developed by Professor Christine Beveridge and Dr Suzanne Morris at the CRC for Sugar Industry Innovation through Biotechnology, The University of Queensland, and ARC Centre of Excellence for Integrative Legume Research in 2005. Authorder® has applicability for any publication and can be used across all disciplines.
Determining who should be listed as an author on a publication, and what order they should be listed, can be problematic. This is especially true among inter-disciplinary groups where researchers may have different criteria for answering these questions. What people often don't realise is that there are internationally accepted protocols already in place to determine who should be credited as an author on your next publication. Authorder® builds on these protocols and is a simple tool that can be used by anyone to allocate author order.
